Common options and scope
Recessed and architectural lighting
Install recessed LED fixtures, surface lights, track systems, wall sconces, and accent lighting. Select suitable fixtures for insulation contact, air sealing, ceiling type, and wet or damp locations.
Pendants, chandeliers and fixture replacement
Position dining and kitchen pendants, replace dated fixtures, and assess box ratings and structural support for heavier luminaires. High ceilings may require special access equipment.
Under-cabinet and task lighting
Plan cabinet, pantry, closet, workspace, stair, and toe-kick lighting with accessible drivers, appropriate wiring, and convenient controls.
Outdoor, landscape and security lights
Install porch, patio, soffit, motion-sensor, pathway, and low-voltage landscape lighting. Account for weather exposure, buried cable routes, timers, transformers, and fixture placement.
Lighting controls and efficiency
Upgrade to compatible LED lamps, dimmers, timers, occupancy sensors, and smart controls. Diagnose flickering, humming, poor dimming range, and incompatible driver combinations.
What happens during the work
A fixture schedule, color-temperature preference, furniture layout, and dimming expectations help create a consistent result. Specialty systems such as permanent roofline lighting require separate product and installation review.
Helpful to have ready
A short description, your city or ZIP, and photos of the visible area or equipment. Never remove electrical covers or touch exposed wiring for a photo.
Questions
Why do LED lights flicker after a dimmer change?
Possible causes include incompatible lamps and dimmers, driver limitations, minimum-load requirements, or an electrical connection problem. The circuit and product specifications should both be checked.
