Residential electrical services

Hardwired under-cabinet LED lighting

Task lighting puts light on the countertop instead of relying only on ceiling lights, with drivers and controls planned around cabinet sections.

When this work makes sense

  • Countertops shadowed during food preparation
  • A kitchen lighting refresh
  • Coordinating separate cabinet banks

The electrical work

Install LED lighting, a compatible driver and a wall control under kitchen cabinets.

Standard lighting hardware included. Multiple separated cabinet banks or hidden channels raise cost.

Estimated pricing

$810–$1,800 per 15–25 ft kitchen run

Project ranges include labor and standard installation materials unless a listing says otherwise. Hourly rates are labor only, and equipment you supply (such as chargers, fixtures or fans) is not included. Permit fees and sales tax are additional. Estimates are free, including on-site visits.

Electrical work may require openings in walls or ceilings. Drywall patching, texture, and painting are not included and must be arranged with others.

What affects the scope and cost

  • Total run and separated cabinet banks
  • Driver locations and access
  • LED and dimmer compatibility

A common question

Can all the lighting use one wall control?

Sometimes. Driver compatibility, power routing and the number of separate cabinet sections determine the arrangement. Send an overview of the cabinets and the desired controls.
