Federal Pacific, Zinsco & split-bus panel replacement

A legacy panel deserves a model-specific assessment of its condition, component compatibility and replacement options rather than a diagnosis from a brand name alone.

When this work makes sense

  • A legacy panel identified in an inspection
  • Difficulty obtaining suitable components
  • Planning replacement alongside wiring corrections

The electrical work

Replace an obsolete panel and reconnect serviceable branch circuits to modern protection.

Includes ordinary circuit cleanup. Extensive damaged wiring or meter work costs extra.

Estimated pricing

$3,600–$6,300 per panel

Project ranges include labor and standard installation materials unless a listing says otherwise. Hourly rates are labor only, and equipment you supply (such as chargers, fixtures or fans) is not included. Permit fees and sales tax are additional. Estimates are free, including on-site visits.

Electrical work may require openings in walls or ceilings. Drywall patching, texture, and painting are not included and must be arranged with others.

What affects the scope and cost

  • Panel model and visible condition
  • Serviceable versus damaged branch wiring
  • Utility and meter coordination

A common question

Can you confirm the condition from a photograph?

A safely taken exterior photo can identify labels and guide the conversation, but it cannot establish every internal condition. An on-site assessment determines the replacement scope.
