What this service does
Home charging should fit both your driving habits and your electrical system. A Level 2 installation includes more than mounting the charger: capacity, routing, charging rate, equipment instructions, and location all shape the design.
EV charger installation estimates
Standard estimated range: $729–$1,620 before tax.
These ranges cover straightforward installations. Final pricing depends on scope, including wiring distance, access, panel capacity, equipment, and permit requirements. Not every installation qualifies for the lowest price; more involved work may fall outside these ranges.
What affects the cost
- Distance from the panel to the charger
- Wall, attic or crawlspace access
- Existing panel capacity and condition
- Charger model and its circuit requirements
- Permit and project requirements
Estimated pricing helps you plan. Your project’s cost depends on the existing electrical system, access, equipment, and scope. We’ll explain the work and pricing before getting started.

Common options and scope
Hardwired home charging
Install compatible Level 2 charging equipment for Tesla and other electric vehicles using the manufacturer’s requirements, appropriate protection, and a properly sized branch circuit.
Charging receptacles
Evaluate approved receptacle-based charging where suitable. Equipment quality, GFCI requirements, continuous-load sizing, and manufacturer instructions are important to the design.
Load calculations and management
Check available service capacity and evaluate charging-rate adjustments or approved automatic load management before assuming a panel upgrade is required.
Garages, driveways and multiple vehicles
Plan charger placement, cable reach, outdoor ratings, protected wiring routes, and possible power sharing for more than one vehicle.
What happens during the work
Send the charger model, vehicle type, preferred location, and a safe exterior photo of the closed panel. Never remove the panel cover for a photo. Utility incentives and eligibility change; confirm directly with your provider.
Helpful to have ready
Have the charger model handy and note where you want it mounted. A photo of the closed panel door and the label on the main breaker helps. Never remove electrical covers or touch exposed wiring for a photo.
Questions
How fast will my car charge?
The installed circuit, charger setting, vehicle’s onboard charger, battery conditions, and time available all affect charging speed. The highest advertised charger output may not be the best fit for your home.
