When this work makes sense
- A new Tesla or compatible vehicle
- Moving charging from an ordinary outlet to a dedicated circuit
- Choosing a cable reach that suits the garage
The electrical work
Run a dedicated circuit, mount a customer-supplied charger and commission charging limits.
Approximately 25–50 ft, adequate panel capacity. Charger, service upgrades and trenching excluded.
Estimated pricing
EV charger installation estimates
Standard estimated range: $729–$1,620 before tax.
These ranges cover straightforward installations. Final pricing depends on scope, including wiring distance, access, panel capacity, equipment, and permit requirements. Not every installation qualifies for the lowest price; more involved work may fall outside these ranges.
Project ranges include labor and standard installation materials unless a listing says otherwise. Hourly rates are labor only, and equipment you supply (such as chargers, fixtures or fans) is not included. Permit fees and sales tax are additional. Estimates are free, including on-site visits.
Electrical work may require openings in walls or ceilings. Drywall patching, texture, and painting are not included and must be arranged with others.
What affects the scope and cost
- Charger generation and vehicle compatibility
- Cable distance and mounting location
- Available service capacity

A common question
Does buying a Wall Connector include its electrical installation?
No. The charger and the electrical installation are separate. Send the model and intended location so the circuit, charging limit and installation scope can be reviewed.
