When this work makes sense
- Switching to electric cooking
- A new appliance with different ratings
- Relocating the kitchen cooking area
The electrical work
Install a new 240V branch circuit and appropriate range connection.
Approximately 25–50 ft. Final rating follows the appliance. Appliance and panel upgrades excluded.
Estimated pricing
$900–$1,980 per circuit
Project ranges include labor and standard installation materials unless a listing says otherwise. Hourly rates are labor only, and equipment you supply (such as chargers, fixtures or fans) is not included. Permit fees and sales tax are additional. Estimates are free, including on-site visits.
Electrical work may require openings in walls or ceilings. Drywall patching, texture, and painting are not included and must be arranged with others.
What affects the scope and cost
- Manufacturer electrical rating
- Panel capacity and wire distance
- Receptacle or hardwired connection
A common question
Does the 50A page mean every cooktop needs 50A?
No. The price reflects a typical dedicated range circuit, but final rating follows the selected appliance. Provide its specification sheet before the circuit is planned.
